Matt "Ernie" Ernstes grew up in Greensburg and is familiar with the life and culture of a small town. He is the
third of four children. Brother Matt graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in
Communications. He has many years of sales, marketing and management experience. His expertise and
dedication to Columbianism and family life will serve our members well. He is a valuable addition to our Agency
Team and we are proud to have him onboard!
Ernie and his wife Abbe have lived in the Madison/Hanover area since 2005. Prior to coming aboard with the
Knights, Matt worked in sales at 95.3 WIKI. Abbe is in fundraising at Hanover College. They have two dogs—
Rudy, a beagle/terrier and Brady, a lab/beagle.
The Ernstes family donates time and money to many organizations. Ernie is a member of the Madison Rotary Club
where he serves as Chair of the Fundraising Committee and Public Relations. Ernie is also a member of the
Madison Young Professionals Group. YP brings together young professionals in the Madison/Hanover area for
networking and to talk about local issues. He is also the Public Relations Director for YP. Matt was a Chamber
Ambassador for the Madison Chamber of Commerce for three years and in the past, has performed play-by-play
and color commentary for area high school football and basketball games as well as Hanover College football.
Ernie is also known for having written sports stories for area high school events for the Madison Courier.
